Clinical Psychologist Croydon VIC
Family, Parenting and Adult mental health.
I’m Brogan, a clinical psychologist, mother, and author, with a passion for helping individuals and families better understand emotions, behaviour, and connection.
Minds in Balance grew from both my professional work and my experience as a parent, a space where emotional development, connection, and real-life parenting come together. Through my books and resources, I focus on helping children and families better understand emotions, build awareness, and feel more connected in everyday moments.
I also work directly with adults and parents in a therapeutic setting. In my clinical work, I support people navigating a wide range of mental health difficulties, as well as challenges that can arise in parenting and relationships. My approach is warm, evidence-based, and grounded in a number of different therapeutic models including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment-informed theories, and body based nervous system awareness.
If you’re looking for an experienced psychologist to support you as a parent or individual, you’re welcome to access appointments through the practice I work from below. Our office is based in Croydon VIC, but we offer Telehealth Australia wide.
I work with adults and parents navigating a range of emotional and psychological challenges, including times that feel overwhelming, uncertain, or difficult to make sense of.
This includes support for:
Anxiety and ongoing stress
Depression and low mood
Postnatal anxiety and depression
Perinatal mental health and adjustment to parenthood
Trauma and past experiences that continue to impact the present
Substance use and coping patterns
Personality and relational difficulties
Emotional overwhelm, reactivity, or feeling stuck in patterns
Many people come to therapy not because something is “wrong”, but because something feels hard, persistent, or confusing.
What I help with…
Psychologists provide psychological intervention, which offers a space to slow things down and better understand what’s happening beneath your thoughts, emotions, and reactions.
Together, we work to:
Make sense of your emotional experiences
Understand patterns, triggers, and protective responses
Build emotional regulation and nervous system awareness
Develop new ways of responding that feel more flexible and aligned
Strengthen your sense of self, connection, and direction
Rather than focusing only on symptom reduction, therapy supports meaningful, lasting change that carries into everyday life.
What do psychologists do?
My work is grounded in a range of evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, allowing therapy to be tailored to you and your needs.
These include:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
Internal Family Systems (IFS-informed work)
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT-informed skills)
Motivational Interviewing (MI)
Attachment-based and relational approaches
Somatic and nervous system-informed practices
This integrative approach allows us to work not just with thoughts, but also with emotions, the body, and relational patterns.
It’s not about applying one model, but about understanding you as a whole person and supporting change in a way that feels safe, practical, and sustainable.
